In the UK, access to safe, clean drinking water is something we take for granted. In countries in the developing world, these UNICEF statistics are alarming:

WorldShare partners address the needs of water and food security in ways appropriate to their particular local circumstances.

Casa del Alfarero, Guatemala City, Guatemala provide food parcels to the needy families of the city dump communities and provide micro-credit loans and support for new businesses. As part of the ChildAid programme, some 200 children receive a free lunch and additionally, up to 40 senior citizens.

Part of the extra-curricular formation of children at Grace Christian School, (South Africa), Word of Hope Orphanage (Myanmar) and Choisir La Vie (DR Congo) comprises training in animal husbandry and vegetable cultivation.

Part of the ChildAid sponsorship at JKPS (West Bengal, India) goes to provide food supplements for the children of extremely poor families.
