ChildAid Privacy Page

The new law regarding cookies came into force on May 26th 2012 and requires consent by
web site visitors for cookies that record their details. Certain cookies that are deemed
essential are exempt from this law. WorldShare only uses essential cookies, for on line
shopping and session visits. We do not collect any personal information or location statistics
and these cookies expire.

A cookie, also known as an HTTP cookie, web cookie, or browser cookie, is a piece
of data stored by a website within your browser, and then subsequently sends back to the
same website information regarding pages visited. Cookies are kept in a folder on a local machine and can be removed using the "Internet options" under the "tools" menu on most browsers.

We respect the privacy rights of visitors to our website.

Online Donations: All our transactions are conducted through Worldpay secure trading
system. 

Content: Whilst every effort is made to ensure the accuracy of the information published
on our website, WorldShare does not acccept any responsibility for errors.
All content of this website remains the property of WorldShare and cannot be downloaded
for republishing or retransmission without prior written permission.

Internal Systems

WorldShare needs to hold the following personal information about our supporters:-

  • Names
  • Addresses
  • Details of donations.

We are required by law to maintain these records.

All such information is kept with great care, so that it can only be accessed by authorised
staff or others (eg auditors) working on our behalf.

Only such information as is necessary is retained, and information no longer needed is
destroyed. Care is taken when discarding information, to ensure that it cannot be retrieved
by anyone else.

The law gives you the right to see data we hold about you, on request, with appropriate notice and on payment of a small fee.  

WorldShare does not sell, rent, lease or exchange any information to any other
agencies.

We will not give you the address or contact details of your child, even if they leave the programme; neither will we give the child or their family your details.

All information supplied will be for the sole use of WorldShare.
