Bangladesh: Home for flood-struck families

Pari stands with three of her children in front of their new house. She is a widow with five children. She lived in a small thatch house that was destroyed in the floods. As a widow, she has little income. Her children do not attend school as there is no school near by.

Pari lives on an island where most of the fishermen in the area are completely excluded from government services. She prays for the donors who gave her a disaster house for flood victim through Gift of Hope, as she could never have dreamed for such a beautiful home.

Salina happily sits at the door of her newly-built house. Here, she finds secure shelter at last for her children. She will not need to spend money every year to repair her house after the floods. She is thankful to all who were concerned and supported the houses project, as well those who selected her as a recipient.

While Salina - a widow with seven children - manages to provide for her big family, she longs to educate her children, but there is no school in her area.
