Water plays an important part in the God-inspired work of WorldShare’s ministry partners around the world. From the need for physical water to quench thirst, grow crops and baptise believers, to the dangerous repercussions of flood water, all the urgent needs below have water at the centre.

And above all, the mission of WorldShare, and that of our ministry partners, is to bring the living water of Jesus into the lives of the poor, vulnerable and marginalised.

Clean drinking water in India

JKPS operates in rural communities in India where access to clean drinking water is scarce. The locals turn to ponds or canals for their water needs, leading to water-born diseases. Added to this, in some religious communities, new believers find strong opposition from the locals to using communal water sources. This stems from the age-old notion in parts of India that Christians are from a lower social status.

JKPS 2024 02 Hand Pump

JKPS needs £4,160 to dig two wells & install pumps to provide clean water for two communities.

Mosquito net

Mosquito protection in Pakistan

The aftermath of flooding in Pakistan has caused an increase in the number of mosquitoes present in the areas that ChrisFon operates. With the spread of dengue fever and malaria on the rise, ChrisFon needs to provide mosquito nets and repellent for the families that their evangelists serve, costing £4.55 per family.

ChrisFon needs £4,550 to provide mosquito protection for 1,000 families in Pakistan.

Crop irrigation in Haiti

Back in 2022 we shared the needs of PiFò Haiti who were setting up a community garden to help strengthen the local economy. The project has progressed but access to water for irrigating crops became a major problem. So they hand dug a well, 120ft deep, which is now providing an abundance of water. Their challenge now is how to store it, see video.

PiFò Haiti needs £3,055 to purchase two 1,000 gallon water tanks and pipework for irrigation.

ECNM Bitola Baptism square

Jumping for joy in North Macedonia

Praise God that new believer, 18-year-old Darko, was baptised in the freezing cold waters of Lake Prespa in December 2023. He found faith through contact with the Evangelical Church in North Macedonia (ECNM) who desperately needs funds to raise up the next generation of young leaders. To read his story, click here.

ECNM needs £2,210/month for evangelism, church planting, training, education & practical help.
