Sri Lanka NCEASL 3
BANGLADESH FACTORY COLLAPSE: More than 1,000 people died when a garment factory building in Dhaka collapsed. This tragedy, the worst of its kind, has highlighted the exploitation faced by thousands of young women, and girls as young as ten, who risk their lives every day working in hazardous conditions. WorldShare partners in Bangladesh are stepping up their work to bring about a sea change in the circumstances which force young women away from proper education and into these huge garment factories. Girls like Laizu now have access to wide-ranging education and life skills training. white white
SRI LANKA: There has been a marked increase in religious intolerance in Sri Lanka. Well-organised attacks against Christian churches and forced closures have been carried out, especially in villages, while pastors face increased persecution. Most of these incidents remain unkown to the general public
as they are not widely reported by mainstream media. Pray for the ministry of our partner, the
National Christian Evangelical Alliance of Sri Lanka (NCEASL) amidst these difficulties.

Ghana's accused witches
WOMEN ACCUSED OF WITCHCRAFT: Christian Outreach Fellowship repre-sentatives held dozens of meetings in villages, educating community leaders in the injustice faced by women falsely accused of witchcraft, a practice which cruelly marginalises them. They also pledged to use the committees as vehicles to end other practices, such as child marriage, that hinder the progress and wellbeing of local women.white text here
India Kolkata rescue
TRAFFICKING: Naznin, a young woman, has been rescued from a brothel described as a 'dungeon' in Kolkata, India. Her freedom was secured as part of recent operations by our ministry partner and local police to release many people from prostitution, forced begging and other forms of slavery. Those rescued included children, infants and even babies, some trafficked from other parts of India.

Iraq blog 3
IRAQ TEN YEARS ON: "Fleeing at night with his family, forced to leave his home and possessions he found refuge among those he had been helping, although his Christianity and unstoppable witness ultimately precipitated assassination attempts against his life..." Rev. Brent Mitchell (Partners International, Canada) visited Iraq and discovered that, amidst sporadic waves of bombings, life remains
very hard and at times dangerous for Christians.

Mozambique floods 2013 4

MOZAMBIQUE FLOODS: Following their relief programme after the January 2013 floods, HfAM's focus is moving towards sustainability and development.
"The disaster left many without proper accommodation, clothing, clean water and the main means of survival, agri-culture (fields were washed away).
We have about 80% of people returning to their homes and trying to rebuild.
We are trying to help with seed for families to start planting for a long-term food crisis relief."

Bibleverses...                                                                                                      If

"I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus."
Philippians 1: 3 (NIV)

If you do away with the yoke of oppression,
with the pointing finger and malicious talk,
and if you spend yourselves on behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness, and your night will become like noonday.

The LORD will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.
Isaiah 58: 9-11 (NIV)
