Schools: special note for ChildAid sponsors

The HCIM school on Ile de la Gonave was destroyed in the earthquake.

Many families of sponsored children fled to the hills in the aftermath of the earthquake. Our partners are only gradually managing to establish contact with them.

To date, they have not discovered that any sponsored children have been either killed or seriously injured, though some are known to have wider family members who were killed, and other children not in the ChildAid programme have been orphaned.
