Burma rice 2

Burma: rice for orphans

In Yangon, the capital city of Myanmar (Burma), WorldShare supports an orphanage which is home to 50 children. They have already lost parents and their homes. Some have been rescued from the streets.

The orphanage run by our partner Word of Hope provides care, a safe place to live, and an education for the children.

Yet, in this very poor country, providing food every day is very expensive and a challenge for our partners.

Burma rice 1

Rice costs £16 for a 50kg sack. One sack feeds the orphans for four days. So it costs £4 to feed the orphans each day.

Could you help by…

· buying one sack of rice (£16), or

· giving just £4 to provide rice for one day?

HOW TO HELP

1) Donations can be given via the red button now.

2) You can send a gift by post:-

Please make cheques payable to ‘WorldShare’.

Write ‘Burma rice’ and your name and address on the reverse of your cheque. Mail to ‘FREEPOST WORLDSHARE’ (that’s all you need to write on the envelope, and no stamp is needed if mailing in the UK).

3) You can give a gift over the phone:-

Please phone (01302) 775209, and have your Credit/Debit Card details to hand when you call.

4) You can also give to this project on the WorldShare stand at our exhibitions this summer.

Thank you for your help.
