In 2005, Bible Faith Mission launched a residential English-language school for children in South India. One year later, the school achieved a milestone: accreditation by India’s Central Board of Secondary Education in New Delhi.
Today, the school has nearly 1,000 students up to age 16, involving Dalit children and children from higher castes. Bishop Swamidas’ dream is that by learning and playing together, barriers between castes will be broken.
This year, WorldShare is partnering with BFM to construct the basement and ground floor of a new building that will house labs and classrooms necessary for the school to expand to the 11th and 12th grades.
Funds will be used for construction costs, furniture, and fixtures. To complete this building, it will cost more than £250,000. BFM is seeking a government grant for a portion of the costs and we already have commitments from other agencies to contribute toward the need.
Thus, WorldShare is seeking to raise £142,500 this year.
