Zimbabwe’s productive farming sector used to supply food to much of Africa. Then, many of the efficient farms were seized by ZANU-PF- inspired mobs, and most have largely stopped producing.
Ordinary Zimbabweans have also been unable to obtain the seed and supplies they need to farm their own land, or have had their tools stolen, or have simply lost heart. This once-fertile country has hovered on the brink of starvation.
Hope for Africa Missions’ project in Zimbabwe has been highly successful. Initially, food aid was given to families in need. Then, families were given small plots of land and the seed and tools to begin providing for themselves.
Now, small loans are given to help people obtain supplies for themselves. People have the dignity of managing their own affairs and providing for their families again. The yield allows them to survive and have a small surplus to sell.

Within Zimbabwe, the money is carefully distributed as loans which are repaid to the scheme over time. The funds are then re-used to help others. A proportion of the repayment may be in grain, which is used for further food aid in needy places. Your gift will go on being a help for many years to come.
Wherever possible, training is given in farming with minimal soil disturbance and other energy-saving techniques, which preserve the nature of the soil. Farming this way has increased yields by up to 600%.
