Our partners in Mauritania are providing micro-credit loans to industrious Christian families. The recipients of the micro-credit project are the poorest of the poor in three small towns where our partners are working.
These small loans help boost the recipient’s income, raise their standard of living, and give them an opportunity to experience the love of Christ.
Some example businesses include sale and distribution of water, handicrafts, fabric dyeing, barber shops, tailoring, beauty salons, small-scale farming of millet and sorghum, fishing, and livestock rearing.
All recipients, who are mainly women, must undergo training before being qualified to receive the loans. Our partners have two staff members managing of the project and six “trainer-coaches” who help the loan recipients get started and work through any problems.
