In some Middle Eastern countries there are few official churches. Many unofficial house churches only have a leader visit once a month, because the few who are trained to disciple the believers have to do the work of many.
To address this need, the Persian Ministry holds Bible and leadership training events where Christians can gather together safely.
These training sessions equip ministry workers, house church leaders and other volunteers to follow up with the growing number of people who express an interest in Christ. They also connect new believers with existing fellowship groups.
Often participants travel extremely long distances to attend the conference—some more then 20 or 30 hours. Many have never fellowshipped with other believers. When they are finally able to meet, the joy of fellowship overflows.
These are times not only for training, but for strengthening one another through developing relationships with other brothers and sisters in Christ.
Over the last few years WorldShare has helped Persian Ministry purchase and renovate a training facility. With this new space, the ministry will extend its training program to 50 students.
It costs roughly £550 per participant to attend a one-week event.
