Founders John and Jesca Wandera were called to bring healing and hope to the broken-hearted, traumatised and hopeless around them. They established CFM with the aim of sharing their faith in Christ while caring for the most vulnerable.

Uganda has many vulnerable people, having gone through difficult times for the past 35 years, beginning with the brutal leadership of Idi Amin. This was followed by civil war, the HIV/AIDS scourge and rebel conflict claiming the lives of more than two million children.

Nearly 40% of Uganda’s population live below the poverty line. More than 90% of these people live in rural areas such as the communities in Mbale region.

To date, CFM have seen:-

  • 26 micro-finance schemes begun

  • 25 churches planted in remote rural areas

  • 180 needy children assisted through sponsorship (predominantly through WorldShare's Australian sister organisation, CNEC Partners International.

The children, orphaned by disease or conflict, live with foster families. The support received through sponsorship enables them to attend school, access medical care and feel safe and valued.
