Joshua Vision India

The goal of Joshua Vision India (JVI) is to bring the light of the gospel to each of India’s more than 4,000 unreached people groups.

JVI carries out in-depth research of India’s unreached ethno-linguistic groups.

The ministry then trains and sends church planters to work among them.

In order to implement its strategic plan, JVI trains ‘Master Trainers’, who then train carefully-selected Christians as cross-cultural missionaries.

The training covers cross-cultural evangelism, church planting, and holistic evangelism (‘tent making’).

In 2001, JVI embarked on a new area of ministry, IWILL, to train Indian Christian women leaders to reach the country’s women for Christ.

MORE ABOUT JVI TRAINING & 'MASTER TRAINERS...

Joshua Vision India was started in 1996 as a one-year intensive training programme for experienced mission workers from all over India.

Once trained, these Master Trainers return to the field where they evangelize, hold Bible studies, and pass on their missional and vocational training to grassroots workers called Harvesters.

JVI's vision is to send cross-cultural missionaries to all of the remaining unreached people groups of India.

MULTIPLYING THE SEED

Dharmendra Naik was commissioned as a JVI 'Master Trainer' in 2004.

Despite health problems, Dharmendra chose to minister among five unreached people groups in the remote jungles of Orissa, a region without transportation, electricity or medical facilities. He is a gifted singer and Bible teacher. So far, Dharmendra has established two fellowship groups and encouraged 52 believers in their spiritual growth.

For his income-generating project, Dharmendra makes 'leaf plates' (plates made from plant leaves), which are commonly used for special occasions such as weddings, births and religious festivals. This requires a machine which seed- money enabled him to purchase.

With this business, Dharmendra earns enough money to support his family and ministry.

MINISTRY LEADERSHIP

Vijayam

The son of a rural pastor, Dr. B.E. Vijayam grew up witnessing the poverty of India's villages. Later, as a geology professor, he was mystified when a disastrous earthquake took place in a seismically-stable zone.

Such events awakened him to a sense of the urgency of sharing the good news of Jesus with all nations.

In 1995 he founded Joshua Vision India to prepare many evangelists for the task of reaching the thousands of Indians who have not heard the Gospel.

Vijayam's wife Mary serves as the co-ordinator of the women's ministry. The couple has four children.
