Despite Sri Lanka's brutal 25-year civil war, the Alliance grew significantly. Today, NCEASL is reporting an 'upsurge of spiritual life and vision' among believers. WorldShare is coming alongside the Alliance to support its church-planting and training initiatives.

Since its inception the Alliance has grown significantly and today consists of organizations representing more than 200,000 evangelical Christians throughout the country.

When Sri Lanka's civil war finally ended in 2009, WorldShare’s appeal to assist families displaced by the violent end to the conflict generated further essential help which was channelled through NCEASL.
From mid-2005, a team of 50 ministry workers enabled NCEASL to strengthen Sri Lanka's evangelical churches alongside long-term relief and development.
MINISTRY LEADERSHIP
Godfrey Yogarajah was born in Colombo, Sri Lanka in the 1960s. A vigorous campaigner for religious freedom in Sri Lanka and throughout Asia, Godfrey’s efforts have been recognized with several international humanitarian awards.
He has served since 1990 as the General Secretary of the National Christian Evangelical Alliance of Sri Lanka, and has also served as the General Secretary of the Evangelical Fellowship of Asia for eight years.
Godfrey is married to Roshani who works for an organization involved in de-mining.
