Lena became pregnant, but the man refused to marry her. She was forced to go back to her mother’s house, as she had nowhere else to live.
Lena became deeply depressed and contemplated suicide. She became very vulnerable to the prospect of being trapped into the sex trade and trafficked across Europe.
As a teenager, Lena had attended church and even thought about getting baptised. But then she met the man whom she though loved her, and her interested in church ended.
Then, in the depths of her despair, she met one of the team of our partners Beginning of Life. They assessed her very difficult circumstances and could see that this made her very close to the trafficking threshold. She was invited to come and live in the BoL rescue home.
There she found love and support and remembered again that God loves her. She turned to Jesus, and joy filled her heart. Her life is completely turned around.
BoL are helping Lena to learn new skills so she can support herself and will care for her for many years ahead.
In December 2011, Lena gave birth to a wonderful girl whom she named Emmanuela, as a sign of her gratefulness to God.
On May 1st Lena was baptised and is now a very keen member of the local church. Her outlook is positive and she longs to help other girls from a similar background.
