Update on Christian Mission to Gaza

19 May 2025

As you may have seen in the news today (19th May), Israel has said it will now allow a limited amount of food into Gaza, ending an 11-week blockade. We would like to remind you that our ministry partner, Christian Mission to Gaza, has been on the ground consistently throughout this blockade, providing hot meals, clean water and clothing to those in desperate need. Read on as Pastor Hanna Massad, leader of Christian Mission to Gaza, shares with us their work in more detail:

Urgent Relief in Jesus' Name

"With hearts full of gratitude, we continue to witness to how the Lord enables us to reach out with His love to desperate people in Gaza. Through your prayers and support, we have been able to distribute thousands of hot meals to those in need, ensuring that families and individuals facing hardship do not go hungry.

What’s happening in Gaza is truly beyond words. Yet, by God’s grace, Gaza Baptist Church, has been able to serve hot meals across the south, middle and north of the region. We served 3,000 meals on May 3rd alone. Not only that, but we have also provided clean drinking water to my own childhood neighbourhood. It’s a small but powerful expression of Christ’s love and a reminder that the Christian presence is still here, still caring

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your continued prayers and support."

“I was hungry, and you gave me something to eat… Whatever you did for the least of these, you did for me.” – Matthew 25:35, 40

Testimonies of Lives Changed

A 15-year-old boy shared, "I extend my sincere thanks and appreciation to the church and to everyone who contributed to providing us with food. It has been a source of joy and safety for us in these hard times. Thank you for your humanity and your care. With all gratitude and appreciation."

An elderly woman shared, “There is nothing in my tent. We are waiting for the meals that you distribute. May God reward you with good.”

A mother, too ashamed to ask, quietly requested just two meals for her children, saying, “By God, there is not a tomato in my house or anything.”  She was given three meals.
